What is indoor cycling and how does a session at Spinbreak work?
Indoor cycling (biking/RPM) is a cardiovascular exercise performed on a stationary bike in an indoor setting. At Spinbreak, a typical session includes choreographed routines to upbeat playlists designed to maximize calorie burn while having fun. Our sessions vary in intensity to engage the entire body.
What are the benefits of Indoor Cycling?
Indoor cycling at Spinbreak offers multiple benefits: improved cardiovascular health, strengthened muscles in the legs, glutes, and core, significant stress reduction, and enhanced overall endurance. It’s also an excellent way to burn calories and improve your mental state in a stimulating and communal atmosphere.
What muscles are worked during a session?
The most engaged muscles are in the legs and the abdominal belt. Indoor Cycling also works the upper body depending on the positions.
What equipment does Spinbreak provide for sessions?
For each session, Spinbreak provides high-quality bikes, suitable clip-on shoes, towels, and water bottles. Everything is designed so you can focus on your workout without worrying about practical details.
How does Spinbreak ensure a unique indoor cycling experience compared to classic RPM?
Unlike RPM, which follows often endurance-centered pre-programmed classes, Spinbreak enriches the indoor cycling experience with choreographies that follow the rhythm of various music. This approach transforms each session into a dynamic and interactive experience, where music and movement harmonize for maximum motivation.
What should I know about bike adjustments on my first visit?
During your first session, one of our coaches will adjust your bike to perfectly fit your height and posture. This customization helps prevent injuries and maximize the effectiveness of your workout. Feel free to ask questions to learn how these adjustments enhance your experience.
Are there specific strategies to overcome nervousness before my first indoor cycling class?
It’s completely normal to feel apprehensive before a first class. We encourage you to arrive a little early to familiarize yourself with the space, meet your coach, and relax by listening to the ambient music before the session begins.
How can I assess if Spinbreak meets my expectations after the first session?
After your first session, reflect on how you feel physically and mentally. Our sessions aim to leave you invigorated, motivated, and ready to tackle the rest of your day. We encourage direct feedback and offer personalized advice to help you achieve your fitness goals.
What should I wear for my cycling session at Spinbreak?
For your comfort during the session, we recommend wearing appropriate sports attire such as shorts, leggings, a tank top, or a t-shirt. Avoid clothing that is too loose or too warm to facilitate your movements and regulate your body temperature.
What type of shoes is required for indoor cycling at Spinbreak?
We provide clip-on shoes specially designed for indoor cycling. You can use ours or bring your own SPD clip shoes if you have them.
How should I hydrate before a cycling session?
It is crucial to stay well-hydrated before, during, and after your cycling session to maintain optimal performance and recovery. We recommend drinking plenty of water throughout the day leading up to your session. Aim to consume at least 500ml (about 17 oz) of water about an hour before you start to ensure you’re adequately hydrated. During the session, keep a water bottle handy and take small sips regularly to replace fluids lost through sweat.
What foods should I eat before my session to optimize my performance?
Consume a light meal or snack rich in carbohydrates and proteins about 1 to 2 hours before your session to provide the necessary energy without weighing you down. Avoid fatty or heavy foods that might disrupt your activity.
How early should I arrive at Spinbreak before my session?
We recommend arriving 10 to 15 minutes before your session starts to allow you time to prepare without stress, familiarize yourself with the facilities, and have your bike adjusted by our coaches.
What facilities are available in the Spinbreak locker rooms?
Our locker rooms are equipped with individual lockers that you can use for free. They also contain showers and care products to freshen up after your session. Clean towels are provided at each visit.
